Sri Lanka, Jan. 8 -- Heavy rainfall ranging between 150mm and 200mm is expected tomorrow in the Eastern, Uva, Central, Northern, and North Central provinces.
Department of Meteorology Director General Athula Karunanayake announced this forecast while addressing a media briefing held at the Department of Government Information today (08).
Elaborating on the developing weather pattern, the Director General explained that a disturbance previously observed in the southeast Bay of Bengal developed into a low-pressure area and subsequently intensified into a deep depression.
