Sri Lanka, Feb. 6 -- A verbal clash erupted in Parliament today (6), during the debate on emergency law between Deputy Minister Mahinda Jayasinghe and MP Ramanathan Archuna.

The tension began when the Deputy Minister questioned why Archchuna reacted so strongly whenever the name of MP Namal Rajapaksa was mentioned.

The Deputy Minister mockingly asked why the MP seemed to get "excited" or "hyper" at the mere mention of Namal Rajapaksa's name.

In a sharp and crude rebuttal, MP Archchuna countered that it is the "Malimawa" (NPP) members who lose their composure when they hear the name.

He further took a swipe at the JVP's history, claiming he had heard that in the past, JVP members would remove their slippers and carry them on their head...
