Sri Lanka, April 14 -- The Department of Meteorology has issued a cautionary alert regarding elevated heat indices expected across several regions of the island tomorrow.

According to the advisory, the affected regions include the Northern, North Central, North Western, Western, Southern, and Eastern provinces, along with the Ratnapura and Monaragala districts.

The heat index, calculated using relative humidity and maximum temperature, reflects the condition felt on the body ratherthan the actual temperature.

The public is advised to take necessry precautions, including staying hydrated, taking breaks in the shade at job sites, checking on the elderly and sick, avoiding leaving cildren unattended in vehicles, limiting strenuous outdoor...
