Sri Lanka, July 20 -- A remarkable story has emerged from the Morotthegama area of Galkiriyagama, where a spotted deer fawn, separated from its herd, has formed an extraordinary bond with two calves.
The owner of the calves, who are tethered on his land near the Ranawakanda Forest Reserve in Galkiriyagama, says the deer fawn has been living with his two calves for about three months now.
This unique friendship sees the fawn eating, playing, and even sleeping alongside the two calves.
According to the owner, the fawn, whom he calls 'Chuti', rarely ventures more than 50 to 100 feet away from its bovine friends. It has even learned to come for food and water simply by hearing its name.
