Sri Lanka, March 5 -- The discussion between the Minister of Health and the Health Professionals Federation regarding tomorrow's planned strike over cuts to health sector allowances in this year's budget concluded a short while ago.
During the talks, it was agreed that the Minister would consult the Ministry of Finance before making a decision, with further discussions to be held in coordination with trade union leaders.
A written notification on the matter is expected to be issued this afternoon (05), after which trade union leaders will make a final decision on the planned trade union action, said Chanaka Dharmawickrama, the co-convener of the Health Professionals Federation.
