Sri Lanka, April 29 -- The Hambantota International Port has received a consignment of 1,560 used vehicles, the first shipment on a Seven Seals vessel since the import ban was lifted.
The shipment from Japan included Toyota Land Cruisers, Prados, BMWs, Mercedes-Benzes, and other popular models.
Port officials say this signifies a rebound in market activity following the pandemic.
The shipment was delivered via roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) vessel MV Viking Drive, operated by Seven Seals Company Ltd., locally represented by Marine International Agencies Pvt Ltd.
