Sri Lanka, Jan. 21 -- The Mahara Additional Magistrate, Bandara Ilangasinghe, ordered the release of a prominent band's lead guitarist on a surety bail of 500,000 rupees yesterday afternoon. The individual faced remand for driving under the influence and crashing into the spouse of former Speaker and Member of Parliament, Asoka Sapumal Ranwala.

The court temporarily suspended the 33-year-old suspect's driving license and mandated a medical examination at the Nugegoda Medical Research Institute. A formal medical report must be submitted to the court as part of the proceedings.
