Sri Lanka, Aug. 29 -- The Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government Ministry has announced that it will install fingerprint scanners in all government institutions that do not currently have them.

Minister Professor A.H.M.H. Abayaratne stated that while many state offices are already equipped with the technology, several are yet to adopt the system.

The Minister highlighted that with the recent increase in overtime allowances under the current government, it is crucial to ensure these payments are calculated accurately.

He stressed that since public employees are remunerated with public funds, salaries and overtime allowances must be properly calculated.
