Sri Lanka, Aug. 30 -- The Secretary to the President, Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake, met yesterday with the Chair of Transparency International, Francois Valerian, who is on a brief visit to Sri Lanka.
During the discussion, Dr. Kumanayake highlighted the government's ongoing efforts to combat corruption in both the public and private sectors.
He stated that new initiatives have been launched, with significant progress already made in strengthening anti-corruption mechanisms.
He further explained that plans are underway to raise public awareness to eliminate corrupt practices, foster a culture of integrity, and ensure the effective use of public funds.
