Sri Lanka, Feb. 5 -- The Attorney General informed the Supreme Court today that the current government has decided to introduce several new amendments to the Online Security Act.
Solicitor General Viraj Dayaratne, representing the Attorney General, made this announcement when four fundamental rights petitions filed by parties including Transparency International Sri Lanka were taken up. The petitions claim that the Act was passed in an unlawful manner.
The case was heard before a Supreme Court bench comprising Justices S. Thurai Raja, Shiran Gunaratne, Achala Vengappuli, and Mahinda Samayawardena.
