Sri Lanka, Oct. 26 -- The Government Dental Surgeons' Association (GDSA) has announced that its members will launch an islandwide token strike on November 6, 2025.

The strike is in protest of what the association describes as the "ongoing administrative collapse" within the Dental Services Division of the Ministry of Health.

The GDSA stated that this decision was unanimously approved by its Executive Committee after 18 months of unsuccessful attempts to resolve serious administrative problems through official channels.

The association noted that despite continuous discussions with the Health Minister and ministry officials, no meaningful action has been taken to address their concerns.
