Sri Lanka, Jan. 24 -- A significant portion of the government's relief payments for victims of Cyclone Ditwah has been completed, according to the Presidential Media Division.

Approximately 70% of the Rs. 50,000 allowance designated for the purchase of kitchen utensils has been disbursed to families being resettled.

Out of 156,805 eligible families identified across 25 districts, 19,512 have already received the full amount.

The disbursement of the Rs. 25,000 allowance for house cleaning following the disaster is nearly complete, with a 97% progress rate.

Of the 435,104 families qualified for this payment, 422,900 have already been reached.
