Sri Lanka, April 24 -- The government has made a policy decision to ensure the ongoing and uninterrupted implementation of the programme providing nutritious meals to schoolchildren.

This announcement came from the Secretary to the President, Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake.

He conveyed this commitment during a discussion held yesterday (23) at the Presidential Secretariat, which involved stakeholders connected to the initiative.

The nutritious meal programme, which receives support from the World Food Programme, is specifically aimed at reducing anaemia amongst school pupils.
