Sri Lanka, Jan. 14 -- A gold necklace valued at 600,000 rupees was snatched from an ailing man while he slept at his residence, leading to an investigation by North Kalutara Police. The victim, a resident of North Kalutara, filed a formal complaint regarding the theft.
The complainant, who suffers from Parkinson's disease, lives with his wife, son, and the son's family. According to his statement, he woke up during the night on the 11th when he felt someone touching him, only to see the suspect flee after ripping the chain from his neck.
When the victim shouted that someone stole his jewellery, his son arrived but dismissed the claims, suggesting his father shouted while dreaming. The son then closed an open window and returned to bed. ...
