Sri Lanka, March 16 -- Less than a week after the rape of a female trainee doctor at the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital, another tragic incident has been reported from the Thalangama Police Division involving a gang rape by three individuals.

A 32-year-old woman from Bibila Magadama, who had been staying temporarily in Nugegoda, was allegedly lured by a three-wheeler driver she had befriended. According to her police statement, the driver invited her to Akuregoda, where he first assaulted her in a deserted area, then took her to his house and raped her again.
