Sri Lanka, Aug. 16 -- The final rites of former State Minister Lohan Ratwatte are scheduled to be held tomorrow (17) at the family burial ground in the Nittawela-Mahaiyawa area of Kandy.
He passed away yesterday (15) at a private hospital in Colombo at the age of 57.
Ratwatte was the eldest son of the late General Anuruddha Ratwatte, a former Deputy Minister of Defence.
General Ratwatte was the brother of the late Prime Minister Sirimavo Bandaranaike.
Lohan Ratwatte was a prominent figure in Sri Lankan politics.
He was first elected to the Central Provincial Council in 2009 and entered Parliament in 2010.
He held several state ministerial portfolios during the Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Ranil Wickremesinghe administrations.
