Sri Lanka, May 15 -- Traffic on the Kirimati road via Talawakelle came to a complete standstill after a fuel transport bowser overturned.

Nanuoya Police reported that the bowser, carrying 33,600 litres of diesel and petrol en route from Kolonnawa to Welimada, met with the accident around 4:00 PM on May 14 in the Kalantran Wattha area.

Diesel and petrol were leaking from the overturned bowser, which blocked the entire road, with nearby residents reportedly gathering to collect the spilt fuel.

Petroleum Corporation officials worked to transfer the remaining fuel to another tanker.

No injuries were reported, and the Nanu Oya Police are investigating the incident.
