Sri Lanka, June 27 -- A significant amount of fuel spilled earlier today (27) after a fuel bowser overturned in Kudamurutti on the Kilinochchi-Pooneryn road.

According to our correspondent, the incident occurred in the early hours as the bowser travelled from Muthurajawela via Kilinochchi to Kankesanthurai.

The driver sustained minor injuries, and the bowser was severely damaged.

A large quantity of fuel being transported by the bowser spilt onto the road and surrounding areas.

Our correspondent reported that residents were observed collecting the spilled fuel stocks this morning.

The cause of the overturn has not yet been determined, but Kilinochchi Police, who are investigating the incident, suspect the driver may have lost control...
