Sri Lanka, Jan. 10 -- Police apprehended four individuals, including a suspected gunman, in the Modara and Mattakkuliya areas for allegedly planning to take the life of a businessman.

Officers recovered a revolver, six rounds of ammunition, and a motorcycle used by the group during the operation.

The Divisional Corruption Prevention Unit carried out the arrests, and authorities confirmed that court permission was obtained to detain and interrogate the suspects further.

Reports indicate the intended target was a wholesale grain merchant.
