Sri Lanka, April 8 -- Four people were killed and four others injured following a fire triggered by a gas tank explosion at a fuel station in the Wehera area along the Kurunegala-Colombo road last night (7), police confirmed.

According to initial reports, the incident occurred when a gas tank exploded while a lorry was being refilled with gas at the station, which falls under the Kurunegala Police Division.

One person was reported dead shortly after the fire broke out. However, by this morning, the death toll had risen to four, while four other individuals are currently receiving treatment at the Kurunegala Hospital.
