Sri Lanka, Feb. 6 -- Four people have been hospitalized following a violent clash between drivers and conductors of two private buses this evening (05), police said.

The incident occurred on the Badulla-Mahiyangana main road, where employees of two buses engaged in a brawl involving sticks, kicks, and even biting. The altercation reportedly stemmed from a dispute over road timetables.

Four individuals from buses operating on the Mannar-Diyatalawa and Welimada-Mahiyangana routes sustained injuries. One victim was admitted to the Meegahakivula District Hospital, while the other three were taken to the Badulla Teaching Hospital.

Kandaketiya and Badulla police have launched an investigation into the incident.
