Sri Lanka, May 27 -- Four individuals have died in road accidents across the island within the past 24 hours.

Police reported these accidents from the Kegalle, Valaichchenai, Matale, and Kekirawa areas.

In Kegalle, a 53-year-old motorcyclist died when his motorcycle collided with a truck that was loading timber on the Kegalle-Beragala road.

In Valaichchenai, an 85-year-old elderly man was killed.

Meanwhile, in Matale, a three-wheeler driver lost control of his vehicle, veered to the left, and collided with a car, resulting in the three-wheeler driver's death.

Additionally, in Kekirawa, a 49-year-old man died when a hand tractor collided with a bus travelling from Kandy towards Anuradhapura.
