Four arrested for treasure hunting in Nedungamuwa
Sri Lanka, Oct. 15 -- Four persons including a businessman were arrested by the Police today (15) morning for violating the Police curfew and treasure hunting behind a house in the Nedungamuwa area in Weliweriya.
The suspects include the owner of a building material shop in Miriswatta, Gampaha, the house owner and two residents of Bandarawela area.
Investigations have revealed that the suspects had dug to different shapes at the back of the house to a depth of 34 feet and had begun digging a tunnel for mining.
It is reported that the police have taken into custody two hoes, a rope and several other tools used to dig the ground..
