Sri Lanka, June 27 -- Nishantha Wickramasinghe, the former Chairman of SriLankan Airlines, has been remanded until July 1.
He was arrested today (27) by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC).
The remand was given when he was produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court today.
He was arrested on 3 corruption charges.
He is charged of causing a loss of $4,512 to the government by changing the destination of a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Katunayake in January 2014.
He is also charged for causing a loss of $19,160 by disembarking 75 passengers from a flight from the Maldives to France via Sri Lanka in January 2014.
