Sri Lanka, April 29 -- Former Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) Vice Chairman L. A. Wimalaratne was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department today (29).

This is in connection to the investigation into the house allegedly belonging to the Rajapaksa family, built on land belonging to the Irrigation Department in the Menik River Reserve.

Former Kataragama Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman Ashoka Wickramasinghe was also arrested in connection with the case.

Police have also recorded statements from former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Yoshitha Rajapaksa, and the Chief Lay Custodian of the Ruhunu Kataragama Maha Devalaya, Dishan Gunasekara.
