Sri Lanka, April 29 -- L. A. Wimalaratne, the former Deputy Chairman of the Sri Lanka Transport Board, who was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department, was granted bail by the Tissamaharama Magistrate's Court today.

He was arrested over an ongoing investigation into a house, allegedly belonging to the Rajapaksa family, built on land belonging to the Irrigation Department within the Manik Ganga reserve.

Previously, former Kataragama Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman Ashoka Wickramasinghe was also arrested in connection with this case.

Further, the police have recorded statements from several individuals, including former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, son of Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Yoshitha Rajapaksa and Custodian of the Ru...
