Sri Lanka, Aug. 4 -- Saman Ekanayake, who served as the secretary to former President Ranil Wickremesinghe, has been summoned to appear before the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) tomorrow(5).

The summoning is in connection with an ongoing investigation into an alleged overseas trip that was reportedly funded using money from the Presidential Secretariat.

In a related development, Sandra Perera, who was Wickremesinghe's secretary, appeared before the CID this morning as part of the same investigation.
