Sri Lanka, May 18 -- Former National Lottery Board Executive Director Thusitha Halloluwa, who recently made controversial statements regarding the President, was the target of a shooting and assault last night (17).

The incident occurred on Kirimandala Mawatha, Narahenpita.

Reports indicate that two unidentified individuals carried out the attack.

The shooting caused significant damage to Halloluwa's vehicle, and a lawyer who was present at the scene was also injured, according to police.

Following the attack, the assailants reportedly fled with a file containing documents from Halloluwa's vehicle.
