Sri Lanka, July 1 -- 3 individuals, including Former Commissioner General of Motor Traffic, Nishantha Weerasinghe, have been arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption.

The arrests are linked to an ongoing investigation into corruption within the department.

Earlier, 3 others, including the Deputy Commissioner at the Narahenpita Head Office, were also taken into custody and remain in remand over allegations of accepting nearly Rs. 4 million in bribes.
