Sri Lanka, Sept. 1 -- The Department of Prisons has granted permission for former ministers Rajitha Senaratne and Nimal Lanza to consume food brought from home while in remand prison.
According to Prison Commissioner and spokesperson Jayanath Weerasinghe, the approval was granted following formal requests made by the two individuals.
Former Minister Rajitha Senaratne has been remanded until 9 September over charges of causing a financial loss of over Rs.1 20 million to the government by allegedly granting a sand mining project at the Kirinda Fisheries Harbour to a Korean company.
