Sri Lanka, July 1 -- Former Controller General of Immigration and Emigration, Harsha Illukpitiya, has unconditionally pleaded guilty before the Supreme Court to charges of contempt of court.
This stems from his alleged failure to implement a court order related to the electronic visa issuance process.
His sentencing is scheduled for July 24.
In a separate development, Nishantha Wickremasinghe, former Chairman of Sri Lankan Airlines, who is currently in remand custody, has been further remanded until July 15.
The case was called today(1), before Colombo Chief Magistrate Thanuja Lakmali.
