Sri Lanka, July 17 -- Former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella, his wife, three daughters, and son-in-law were indicted before Colombo High Court Judge Lanka Jayaratne today (17) on charges of illegally acquiring assets.
The indictments, filed by the Bribery Commission, allege the illicit acquisition of assets exceeding Rs. 97 million under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
Following the indictment, the defendants were released on a cash bail of Rs. 50,000 and two personal bails of Rs. 1 million each.
The court also imposed a travel ban on all defendants and ordered their passports to be impounded. Furthermore, their fingerprints are to be taken for official records.
