Sri Lanka, June 27 -- Former Chairman of the Ceylon Fisheries Harbours Corporation, Upali Liyanage, arrested by the Bribery Commission on a corruption charge, has been granted bail by the Colombo Magistrate's Court.

Chief Magistrate Thanuja Lakmali ordered his release on three surety bonds of Rs. 5 million each.

Liyanage was also instructed to surrender his passport, and a foreign travel ban was imposed.

Bribery Commission officials informed the court that former Minister Rajitha Senaratne is also expected to be arrested in connection with the same case.
