Sri Lanka, March 27 -- The Colombo High Court has acquitted former Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Kulasiri Udugampola from charges of revealing confidential information about Army intelligence personnel.
Udugampola was accused of undermining national security by raiding a safe house used by Army intelligence officers at the Athurugiriya Millennium City housing scheme on January 2, 2002, and publicizing details of their covert operations.
Colombo High Court judge Adithya Patabendge delivered the verdict following an extended hearing that spanned 20 years.
