Sri Lanka, Feb. 4 -- A foreign digital creator named Balnur reports being scammed out of 15,000 rupees in Colombo on her very first day in Sri Lanka. She shared her experience through a video posted on her TikTok account to warn other travellers.

According to her account, a 55-year-old man named Manoj approached her while she was walking along Galle Road. He claimed to have two daughters and a wife suffering from cancer who urgently needed nutritional milk powder. The man insisted he did not want cash, asking her instead to purchase the milk powder directly for his family.
