Sri Lanka, March 3 -- The Food Policy and Security Committee, chaired by Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Lands and Irrigation K.D. Lalkantha and Minister of Trade, Commerce, Food Security and Cooperative Development Wasantha Samarasinghe, met for the fourth time at the Parliament Complex today (03) to discuss policy decisions on food security.

The committee focused on ensuring essential food items are available at subsidized prices without shortages during the upcoming New Year season. Discussions also covered maintaining stock levels to safeguard food security while protecting consumers, farmers, and producers.
