Sri Lanka, Feb. 18 -- The Hambantota Court ordered the remand of five individuals until the 20th of this month following an incident involving the obstruction of police duties and the use of abusive language toward the President.

The suspects, including the bus driver and four others from Wellawaya and Katana, were arrested after a video of the altercation was shared online.

The confrontation occurred at the Mattala entrance when police attempted to enforce seatbelt regulations on a bus returning to Negombo from Kataragama.

Passengers reportedly exited the vehicle, filmed the officers, and behaved aggressively while shouting insults.
