Sri Lanka, May 13 -- The Acting Inspector General of Police Priyantha Weerasuriya has appointed a five-member police committee, led by Senior DIG Ajith Rohana, to investigate the fatal bus accident in the Kotmale - Gerandi Ella area that tragically claimed 22 lives.
Police stated that the investigation aims to determine the cause of the incident.
Meanwhile, the Nuwara Eliya Chief Motor Vehicle Inspector of the Motor Traffic Department, Jaliya Bandara, stated that the initial on-site inspection of the wrecked bus did not indicate any mechanical faults.
