Sri Lanka, Nov. 1 -- A group of five individuals allegedly connected to an organised crime gang operating in the Kalutara area was arrested yesterday (October 31) by the Special Task Force (STF) and the Kalutara Crimes Division.
The suspects were apprehended for allegedly travelling in motor vehicles and carrying out assaults.
Sharp weapons were also seized at the time of arrest.
Police stated that this group had recently used sharp weapons to enter a house in the Kalutara South Police Division, where they caused damage to property, intimidated the occupants, and carried out an assault.
Investigations revealed that this particular attack was connected to a narcotics transaction.
