Sri Lanka, June 21 -- Fish prices continue to remain high today (21), primarily due to the prevailing adverse weather conditions.

Jayasiri Wickramarachchi, Chairman of the Peliyagoda Fish Market Traders' Association, stated that the wholesale price for a kilogramme of Thalapath (sailfish) is Rs. 2,200, while Koppara Thalapath is selling for Rs. 2,500 per kilogramme.

The wholesale price for a kilogramme of Kelawalla (tuna) remains at Rs. 1,500.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka Association of Animal Production Chairman Ajith Gunasekara. held a press conference in Colombo yesterday, (20), affirming that there is an ample supply of eggs and chicken within the country.

He added that the prices of these products are determined by supply and demand.
