Sri Lanka, Sept. 18 -- Sri Lanka has opened its first digital testimony room at the Kandy Court Complex to provide safe environment for child victims to give evidence.

Justice Minister Harshana Nanayakkara who joined the inauguration virtually described this initiative as a milestone in the judicial system.

This is a part of a program in Kandy aimed at systematising services for children who have suffered violence.

The new facility allows juveniles to give evidence safely from a separate room within the court premises, creating a less intimidating environment.
