Sri Lanka, Feb. 17 -- The first budget of the National People's Power government received Cabinet approval this morning during a meeting at the Presidential Secretariat chaired by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.

The President is set to present the budget to Parliament at 10:30 a.m. today. The Budget Appropriation Bill was initially presented on January 9.

Following the budget speech, the debate will be held from tomorrow until March 25, with the second reading scheduled for the afternoon of February 25. The committee stage debate, or third reading, will take place from February 27 to March 21, concluding with the final vote at 6:00 p.m. on March 21.
