Sri Lanka, March 15 -- A fire broke out at three shops in the Jambutenna area of Hagarapitiya under the Nortonbridge Police Division early this morning. The fire, which started around 1.30 am, affected a building materials store, a wholesale and retail food store, and a pottery store.

Nortonbridge Police stated that the retail store was completely destroyed, while the pottery and building materials stores were partially damaged. The building housing the shops belongs to the same owner, and no one was present at the time of the fire.

Residents managed to control the fire, and authorities suspect an electrical leak as the cause. Nortonbridge Police are conducting further investigations.
