Sri Lanka, Jan. 30 -- A fire at a coconut oil mill on the Bandaragama-Kalutara road early this morning (30) caused property damage estimated at nearly Rs. 2 million.
According to the Bandaragama Police, the blaze erupted at approximately 1:15 AM.
Firefighters from the Horana Urban Council Fire Unit arrived at the scene and managed to bring the situation under control, successfully extinguishing the flames.
Reports indicate that the fire severely damaged a large stock of copra and various other assets stored near the facility.
The exact cause of the incident is yet to be determined. The Bandaragama Police continue their investigations into the matter.
