Sri Lanka, April 26 -- The final rites of social activist Dan Priyasad were performed today at the Kolonnawa Public Cemetery.

His remains had been kept at a private funeral parlour in Borella, where relatives, friends, and political representatives gathered to pay their final respects.

Last night, the remains were taken to his residence in Kolonnawa, and a large number of people continued to arrive this morning to pay their respects.

The remains of the late Priyasad were taken to the Kolonnawa Public Cemetery this afternoon for the final rites.
