Sri Lanka, Feb. 5 -- A father and son have been hospitalized following a violent altercation in the Ridiyagama fishing village, Ambalantota.

According to police, the son, who is addicted to drugs, attempted to take the household television to sell, leading to a confrontation with his mother. The father, upon arriving at the scene, became involved in the scuffle and sustained a forehead injury from a sharp weapon the son was holding.

In retaliation, the father attacked his son with the same weapon. Both were admitted to Hambantota General Hospital, while the son was later transferred to Karapitiya Teaching Hospital in Galle for further treatment, with the sharp weapon still lodged in his stomach.
