Sri Lanka, June 12 -- A 23-year-old was killed after he and his father were attacked with a sword in the Ambarullagahawatta area of Matugama.

According to the police, the attack took place last night following a heated dispute between two groups, which escalated into violence.

The victims from Yatidola, Nauththuduwa, sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the Nagoda Hospital in Kalutara.

The son succumbed to his injuries, while the 51-year-old father remains in the hospital receiving treatment.
