Sri Lanka, July 7 -- The number of fatal traffic incidents in Sri Lanka has exceeded one thousand in the first six months of this year.

The Police Media Division reports that 1,274 incidents have been recorded during this period, resulting in 1,351 deaths.

In comparison, last year saw 1,166 fatal road incidents, with 1,222 deaths.
