Sri Lanka, Jan. 18 -- A bus driver died after his vehicle, which was travelling from Colombo to Welimada overturned in the Uwathenna area of Haldummulla.
Police indicated that the door next to the driver's seat had suddenly swung open while the vehicle was in motion.
The driver is believed to have attempted to close the door, causing him to lose control of the bus.
The vehicle subsequently crashed into an embankment and overturned on the road.
Three others were injured in the accident and have been hospitalised. The injured include the bus conductor, a woman, and a small child.
Police stated that the driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
