Sri Lanka, Feb. 23 -- Relatives of the individuals found guilty of the murder of former Member of Parliament Amarakeerthi Athukorala and his security officer announced today (23) their decision to file an appeal in the Supreme Court.

The announcement followed a meeting at the Presidential Secretariat with the Director General.

The group visited the office to submit a formal letter to the President regarding the case and the legal challenges they intend to pursue.

During the media briefing, a spokesperson for the families expressed their intention to challenge the verdict delivered by the Gampaha High Court Trial-at-Bar.
